Chapter 13 LAWS

All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal. PSALM 119:160 NIV
God's laws are not confined to either the SUPOX or the NAPOX, but rather they transcend all planes of existence. They have full effect in both but materialize differently in each. I imagine that the most obvious difference is that, while they are mostly invisible in the NAPOX, they are visible in the SUPOX. Operating in something like a vast ecosystem, there are as many laws as there are types of plants on earth. Those who devote themselves to finding and living by these laws are in pursuit of what we call wisdom.
“Yahweh [God] possessed me [wisdom] in the beginning of his work, before his deeds of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth existed. When there were no depths, I was born, when there were no springs abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was born …” PROVERBS 8:22-25 WEB
Wisdom is the application of life choices according to God’s law. Abiding by God’s law is often called wisdom.   The first way to understand God's laws is to contrast them with the laws drawn up by human lawmakers and enforced in a nation’s court of law. For the most part, human societal laws are drafted at the inauguration of a nation. From that point, from time to time, new laws are added and old ones modified. In contrast, God's laws are fixed, woven into the fabric of what was created from the very start. They are eternal and unchanging.
“I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved.” MATTHEW 5:18 NLT
Human societal laws generally come into effect when somebody breaks them. They are for the most part punitive. Human laws have very little value for somebody who is abiding by them. God's laws are almost entirely the opposite, being laws that by their very nature bring life, health, wholeness, healing, wealth and protection to those who abide in them.
The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. PSALM 19:7 NIV

Wisdom will multiply your days and add years to your life. If you become wise, you will be the one to benefit. If you scorn wisdom, you will be the one to suffer. PROVERBS 9:11-12 NLT
The laws of God are like capillaries through which the life of God flows into that which he created. In and of themselves laws are lifeless, but what they enable is connection to life itself. They are conduits connecting people to God's power, God's goodness and God's life.
“You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me [Jesus Christ]! Yet you refuse to come to me to receive this life.” JOHN 5:39-40 NLT
The act of breaking God’s laws is simply to sever the connection. The lawbreaker breaks their connection to the sustenance that flows from God to all living things.
Doesn’t wisdom cry out? Doesn’t understanding raise her voice? … “Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, for blessed are those who keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise. Don’t refuse it. Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my door posts. For whoever finds me, finds life, and will obtain favor from Yahweh. But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul. All those who hate me love death.” PROVERBS 8:1 & 32-36 WEB

It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to Yahweh your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments which I command you today, that Yahweh your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. All these blessings will come upon you, and overtake you, if you listen to Yahweh your God’s voice. You shall be blessed in the city, and you shall be blessed in the field. You shall be blessed in the fruit of your body, the fruit of your ground, the fruit of your animals, the increase of your livestock, and the young of your flock. Your basket and your kneading trough shall be blessed. You shall be blessed when you come in, and you shall be blessed when you go out. Yahweh will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be struck before you. They will come out against you one way, and will flee before you seven ways. Yahweh will command the blessing on you in your barns, and in all that you put your hand to. He will bless you in the land which Yahweh your God gives you. …. But it shall come to pass, if you will not listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come on you and overtake you. You will be cursed in the city, and you will be cursed in the field. Your basket and your kneading trough will be cursed. The fruit of your body, the fruit of your ground, the increase of your livestock, and the young of your flock will be cursed. You will be cursed when you come in, and you will be cursed when you go out. Yahweh will send on you cursing, confusion, and rebuke in all that you put your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the evil of your doings, by which you have forsaken me. DEUTERONOMY 28:1-8 & 15-20 WEB
The second way to understand God's laws is to contrast them with the laws of the natural world. An example would be Newton's law of universal gravitation. What Newton described was a phenomenon, the force of gravity, a law that had been in effect since the beginning. Laws like this are unbreakable. The best humans can hope to do is to improve their understanding of the law. And this happened when Einstein penned his General Theory of Relativity, a work which superseded that of Newton. But the law of gravity was never broken, it was simply better understood. In the same way our understanding of God’s laws can be revised and improved, but the law itself can never be broken. It is a fool’s errand to believe God’s laws become obsolete over time.
“Scripture cannot be broken.” JOHN 10:35 NKJV
In the context of the eternal and unchangeable nature of God’s laws, then, it is interesting to consider peoples’ preoccupation with ‘breaking’ them. To think that you’ve succeeded in living outside God's law is like holding your breath underwater - the inaccuracy of your belief will be evident enough in time.
“You have said terrible things about me,” says the Lord. “But you say, ‘What do you mean? What have we said against you?’ “You have said, ‘What’s the use of serving God? What have we gained by obeying his commands …? … Then those who feared the Lord spoke with each other, and the Lord listened to what they said. In his presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared him and always thought about the honor of his name. “They will be my people,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. “On the day when I act in judgment, they will be my own special treasure. I will spare them as a father spares an obedient child. Then you will again see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.” MALACHI 3:13-18 NLT
Laws of the natural world, once understood, can be harnessed either for good or evil. E=mc2 for example, Einstein's theory of mass-energy equivalence, paved the way for everything from smoke detectors and hospital diagnostics to nuclear weapons. In a similar fashion, an understanding of God's laws can be put to use by residents of the NAPOX and SUPOX for both good and evil purposes.
I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death. For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death. ROMANS 7:10-11 NIV

Words of wisdom are like the stick a farmer uses to make animals move. These sayings come from God, our only shepherd, and they are like nails that fasten things together. ECCLESIASTES 12:11 CEV
The devil, fooling the masses into living outside God’s laws, is devastatingly effective at rendering people fodder for his demonic legions.
Descendants of Jacob, I am the Lord All-Powerful, and I never change. That’s why you haven’t been wiped out, even though you have ignored and disobeyed my laws ever since the time of your ancestors. But if you return to me, I will return to you. And yet you ask, “How can we return?” You people are robbing me, your God. And, here you are, asking, “How are we robbing you?” You are robbing me of the offerings and of the ten percent that belongs to me. That’s why your whole nation is under a curse. I am the Lord All-Powerful, and I challenge you to put me to the test. Bring the entire ten percent into the storehouse, so there will be food in my house. Then I will open the windows of heaven and flood you with blessing after blessing. I will also stop locusts from destroying your crops and keeping your vineyards from producing. Everyone of every nation will talk about how I have blessed you and about your wonderful land. I, the Lord All-Powerful, have spoken! MALACHI 3:6-12 CEV
Unlike the laws of the natural world, which exist outside any moral code, God's laws are all oriented for the good of Mankind. The evidence of this is simple. In any given year, there are plenty of situations where gravity caused the death of both good and bad people, with no bias either way. In contrast, God’s laws bring only life to those who abide by them.
Happy is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gets understanding. For her good profit is better than getting silver, and her return is better than fine gold. She is more precious than rubies. None of the things you can desire are to be compared to her. Length of days is in her right hand. In her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness. All her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her. Happy is everyone who retains her. By wisdom Yahweh founded the earth. By understanding, he established the heavens. By his knowledge, the depths were broken up, and the skies drop down the dew. My son, let them not depart from your eyes. Keep sound wisdom and discretion: so they will be life to your soul, and grace for your neck. Then you shall walk in your way securely. Your foot won’t stumble. PROVERBS 3:13-23 WEB
Death only finds a foothold when God's law is rejected, twisted, distorted, and broken.
How can you say, “We are wise, for we have the law of the Lord,” when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? The wise will be put to shame; they will be dismayed and trapped. JEREMIAH 8:8-9 NIV

For whoever finds me [wisdom], finds life, and will obtain favor from Yahweh [God]. But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul. All those who hate me love death.” PROVERBS 8:35-36 WEB
