The Iljrain Reflection
Ponder the Path of Calri Ascendancy
The Iljrain Reflection is the induction ceremony that promotes a Royal Guardsman or Calri Council Guard to an Iljrain. This new office will allow them to instruct the teachers of Darkwing Academy.
The Iljrain Reflection has three steps.
The first is a reading by the Tirin Emperor of the aspirant's credentials and a summary of their new office.
The Second step requires the mentors of the Iljrain to be to take a vow of responsibility for their training before and after appointment.
The third and longest step is members of the Royal Guard walk around the aspirant with twelve large mirrors in a circle then march to the back of the ceremony room with him. There they fan out in two rows on either side and walk to the front of the room where Ikiini makes the following announcement:
"Given due time to consider and in light of the honorable exploits you have achieved in your career and the trust bestowed by your mentors, this aspirant (their full name) has shown a true reflection of the power and value cherished by the throne."
Ikiini's heir will pass the Ga'Tharai ring from left hand to right and then place it on the aspirant's right index finger and say:
"This shield shall shield the guide of the people."
Then she takes the SEAS and says:
"Your armor protects the knowledge of the Empire."
Lastly she takes the Loyalty Staff and places it in his right hand saying:
"Your loyalty to the throne will be transferred through this staff for the good of all."
The aspirant Iljrain swears afterward saying: "I hereby swear to guide the Tirin Empire in the knowledge given and learned and undying loyalty to the Tirin Emperor and his heir."
Ikiini then concludes the ceremony with: "No longer what you were. Henceforth you shall be known as (name of aspirant) Iljrain of the Empire."
Applause from the audience ensues as the Iljrain leaves the room flanked by the mirrors once more.
History
The first Iljrain Reflection began six days after Ikiini Darkwing took power and became the Tirin Emperor. It was a rushed ceremony with a few mistakes in the timing and audio of the speakers. The first four Iljrain were inducted by this ceremony. All following Iljrain Reflections were performed flawlessly.
Components and tools
A fresh Loyalty Staff (or an old one from a deceased Iljrain), a Shol Exo Armor Suit glove, and a Ga'Tharai ring.
Participants
Emperor Ikiini presides over the ceremony while his daughter Jenna is in charge of passing the new tools of the trade to the newly appointed Iljrain.
