Ritual

A band of disembodied consciousnesses, united in pursuit of a single goal, latch on to items worn by all present at the ritual. The one that latches on to an item worn by the Querent is the leader of this group. The travelers prefer to latch on to magical items, the more powerful the better. They attempt to really connect with the person holding them.    To those present, it will appear as if their magical items gain sentience and potency. The items will communicate telepathically with their owners and can sense what's around them with 30ft blindsight.    When you fail a roll, the DM may use this to further the agenda of the soul attached to the item with sometimes unforseen moves and spells.   

Whispers

Although the consciousnesses may not remember it, they were not always disembodied. Those who knew them in their prior bodies, may receive hints of their fate or recognize them in their current form.
