Influence

When you venerate your ancestors or show reverence to the local spirits, you can roll a D20+cha. On a 20+ a spirit will give you advice on your situation. On a 15+ they will also do that, but will want something in return. A favor, a sacrifice, or perhaps just an ear that will listen.

Ritual

A powerful inter-planar monster appears. It claims to be an emissary from its home plane, having been sent to study this world and it has chosen to focus its study on the Querent. It will remain with the Querent, follow them around while observing them and asking questions about events and people. It is friendly, and is largely oblivious to the interference and problems it creates from being present. It is not able to be persuaded to leave or stay behind. It cannot be banished.

Whispers

Other, stronger, inter-planar monsters will hear of the Querent if they mistreat the Observer.
