Dame Briennus Rottborne

Dame Briennus Rottborne is the youngest son of Rohesia Rottborne Rottborne and Nuno Montanha. He is best known for bringing about the so-called "Virility Scandal" in 1996-97, when he got Apollon MacLeto, his then-friend, pregnant without asking permission to do so. Apollon took Briennus to court and won full custody of the child, plus a restraining order preventing Briennus from contacting the MacLetos ever again.
The outcome of the court ruling was particularly humiliating for Briennus due to his noble status. He spent the ten years plotting some kind of revenge against Apollon's family, and he thinks he is close to finding the perfect plan.
Briennus has since found another person to have his (consensual) Virility Test with and married Ysabelle Caballera, with whom he had a child.

As a 15 year-old, Briennus got his friend Apollon pregnant. He wanted the child to be his "Virility Test" which would allow him to marry his betrothed Ysabelle Caballera, but he did not bother to ask Apollon if a) he wanted to get pregnant, and b) whether it would be acceptable for him that his child would be used for the "Virility Test". Briennus assumed that Apollon would jump at the opportunity to acquire a noble title for him and his family.
Unfortunately for him, though, being pregnant at age 15 was not in Apollon's plans. When Apollon realised what was happening, he went to Briennus to tell him of what he thought was an accident and of his plans to get an abortion. Briennus congratulated Apollon and revealed he had done it on purpose. Apollon got angry that Briennus would do such a thing without consulting him and stormed out. He was going to proceed with the abortion, but he changed his mind because he thought that having the child, but preventing Briennus from seeing them would be a much better punishment.
And so Apollon went to court once the child was born to prevent Briennus from having anything to do with her at all. Briennus hired the best lawyers his noble money could afford, but there was nothing much he could do once he admitted he took off the condom without telling Apollon. The judge ruled that Briennus would be forbidden to contact Apollon and his family ever again, and that his child was thus not viable for the "Virility Test" he was so desperate to pass. He was also ordered to pay a considerable amount of money to Apollon for the emotional distress the situation caused him.
Needless to say, Apollon and Briennus were no longer friends.
After the ruling, newspapers, television journalists and radio broadcasters launched a barrage of damning articles against him, his family, and the outdated practice of the "Virility Test". Briennus refused to comment on his loss, the humiliation carried on day after day, regardless of his input. The Caballera family tried to call of his marriage arrangement with Ysabelle, but Briennus's mother convinced them that, by the time the marriage happened, everybody would have forgotten about the scandal.

Briennus is the child of Rohesia Rottborne and Nuno Montanha. His older sister is Isabel Maria Montanha. His half-brother on his mother's side (Rohesia's Virility Test child) is Wilhelm Naschtergale, and his half-sister on his father's side (Nuno's Virility Test child) is Leporella Verdi.
Briennus is currently married to Ysabelle Caballera and has a child with her. He had his Virility Test child with Talita Zulmeida, a maid in his house (because nobody else of a more "proper" rank would agree to it, and Talita jumped at the chance of gaining a noble title).
