Quartermasters Division
The Quartermasters division is responsible for the facilities, equipment, and personnel of the Service. While virtually unknown to outsiders, within the Service their impressive efficiency is greatly valued. With experience coming from the Army and Navy, some of the largest companies in Britain, and the hotel trade, the Quartermasters staff is highly trained and takes pride in being prepared for every eventuality.
Organization
The Director of the Quartermasters division is Augustus Cooper. He's led the division for eighteen years and has been with the Service for forty-two years. During that time he worked in each of the sections of the division and he has served as Section Chief of both Facilities and Transportation.
Personnel
The Personnel Section is the responsible for finding and hiring most of the Service's staff. Even those who come into the Service by other means deal with Personnel for pay and expenses. Many of the staff were found using the section's philosophy of ignoring class and external position, and instead looking for outstanding people who, for whatever reason, are trapped by circumstances.
Edna Parks has been the Personnel Section Chief for eleven years.
Facilities
Facilities is assigned the task of obtaining and operating buildings and offices used by the Service. This includes Fairweather itself. These facilities might be permanent or short-term. Horses, wagons and coaches, and boats are under Facilities' authority, largely for historic reason.
Facilities works closely with the Housekeeping Section in order to meet their rather specific needs.
Roger Conway is the Section Chief for Facilities. He took over the position six months ago, after spending two years as Assistant to the former Section Chief.
Equipment
The Equipment section procures non-arcane equipment, including firearms, needed by the Service. In cases where specialized features are needed, they can modify an existing piece or design and manufacture a custom item.
Quentin Cooper is the Equipment Section Chief, a position that he's held for nearly ten years.
Transportation
The Transportation section operates the Service's portals, including providing security. The demand for additional portals in far-flung corners of the empire are in constant conflict with the effort required to build and secure them.
Arthur St. Michael (who is known throughout the Service as "The Colonel") has been Section Chief of Transportation for twelve years.
