Angelic Entities

The term angel, like the word demon, has cone to refer to all angelic entities. Also, like with demons, the angels are varied and seldom appreciate the term.

Angels vs. Angelic spirits

There are two beings that are most often called angels. Much like with demons, there is a race of angels and angelic spirits.
The angels are a celestial race who reside in the thousand heavens. They each act as messengers and servitors for their respective divinity, a more powerful angel. The angels come in many forms ranging from humanoids with wings, to mechanical constructs, to the eldritch titans of the Aldritch. Like with demons, they are not driven by morality like many belief. They are inherently neutral tho most would say they are on the good side of the coin. A thousand heavens counter a thousand hells and as such, they are usually more preferable. The infernum, a place of fiery suffering, is countered by the plains of sol, the angels within blaze with sunlight fighting a never-ending war with the devils opposite them.
Angelic spirits, on the other hand, are ethereal and spring up within their respective domains to spread their purview. Unlike daemons, they are not malicious but rather kind and benevolent, the source of the stereotype regarding angelic morality. A spirit of sol from the plains appears as a ghostly humanoid with luminous wings rather than a physical one. None know why they appear so similar to the angels, perhaps a form of fond imitation or perhaps they sprang up from the zealous nature of the angels themselves. An accidental creation from their devotion to their domain.

The Aldrich and Alabastra

The aldritch are angelic outsiders and came to this reality to escape an unknown threat. When they arrived, the people fled in terror driven mad by their imitation of mortal forms. The aldritch look alien and their very presence can bring an eldrich terror to the weak-willed.
The alabastra are the servitors of the Aldritch, created by spilling of their blood and look quite similar to their creators as technically they are eidolon.
