Yarei

A harsh island

The island of Yarei is located several hours off the northern coast of Ilwyrika. It is made up of frigid tundra, with only a few species of vegetation - mostly lichen, moss, and stunted coniferous trees - able to survive the harsh climate. It is covered in ice and snow for more than half the year, and in the winter months the island gets only a few hours of daylight.
The people that live on Yarei are known as the Yarine. A tribal society, the Yarine defer to their elders in all matters.
