The Usgar are a group of humans that live in the north of Serukis, in the region known as the Skarrens. This was previously the country of Sgaren. They are ruled by a Treelord, who officially defers to the High Lord Vaifale, though often the Treelord is treated as an equal.
Due to centuries under the rule of the Erish Empire, the majority of the Usgar follow the Faith. Following the joining with Serukis, some now follow the Elemental Monarchs. The native gods of the area are no longer worshipped by most, but their presence can be felt in lingering rituals, festivals, and mythology.
The Usgar earn their last names, and they can change over the course of their life. These names are made by joining two words together, usually two nouns or an adjective and a noun. Examples include Firebeard, Irontongue, and Greyfather.
