WorldEmber 2020 Pledge

Silver and Sand

A woman sits at a vanity, staring into her own reflection as her fingers trail through her hair, which long ago reached the floor. It is unbraided, smooth black coiled at her feet as she turns the knife within her other hand. She brings the knife to her nape of her neck and hesitates, seeing herself and the moisture pricking at her eyes in the mirror. She clenches her eyes shut, and with a ragged, shuddering motion, rips through the strands, tossing the knife onto the vanity like a hot coal.   She ignores the feeling of water sliding down her cheeks. She ignores the way her breath shudders and gasps as she chokes down a cry. With a breath, she steels herself, picks up the knife, and sets to work shaving what remains of her hair.   If they want war, then they shall have it.   My goal is to develop as many of the articles listed below as I can and to reformat my worlds in a manner that is easier for viewers to read and understand.

WorldEmber Pledge

I pledge to complete WorldEmber and the articles listed below to the best of my abilities, but not by sacrificing time for family and self-care during the holidays.   WorldEmber is an annual worldbuilding event hosted by WorldAnvil that stretches from December 1st through the 31st, with a goal of writing 10,000 words of articles within that time period. For my first WorldEmber, due to previous experience and practice worldbuilding for myself and friends, I've chosen to stretch for the goal of 25,000 words in 30 days - 2.5x the base goal.   Because apparently I have no common sense.
