World Overview
Your world has woven through it the remnants of an ancient culture, the
Erta — the first men. All modern races and civilizations derived from them. From what we know, they were a people of mystical simplicity living primarily among the lands of
The Cradle, a large mountainous continent west of
Kyland. So it was written, the Erta expertly wielded magic gifted from the
Gods.
As the Erta grew in power and population they crossed the continents of Eeradae. Growing factions met one another with disputes, anger, and selfishness. Some myths tell of the worst of Erta living underground and in the darkest of places manifesting into beings unlike their ancestors. They turned inward and against themselves. The Gods watched as a great horror descended — the
Gitrah. Never before seen beasts crawled from underground, snarling terrors inhabited forests, and giants came from the seas. The great
The War of Everything covered the Known Lands.
The legends tell of The Many, the old gods, bestwoting upon the Erta their own
Champions — each created as half mortal Erta and half immortal demigod. One of these champions was
Kysa,
Arka's own Champion. Kysa, a mighty and charismatic paladin, rallied the factions of the civilized realms to work together against the ensuing evil. Upon the war’s resolution, all Champions but Kysa had met defeat. Many lives were lost and with the last blood shed, the ancient Erta too had vanished with the vile Gitrah.
Kysa promised to sustain peace across the world of Eeradae.
The Order of Kysa and its tenants brought a seemingly permanent peace to all. The Era of
Sile had begun. However, through the years, our world has not been without its hardships. Eeradae has had its share of wars, political strife, natural disasters, disease pandemics, and nihilistic turmoil from cultures on the fringe. The blood of Kysa still runs through the
King of Kyland bringing some comfort to our calamities.
