Individualists

Monoduga are world-known for their hivemind, the psychic connection that allows them to share ideas, knowledge and news instantly.

Some are excluded from this aspect unwillingly if they somehow lose this connection and become Severed. Some, however, choose to rely on the hivemind as little as possible, instead pursuing personal ideals.

Individualism is often (but not always) tied to Nachi, a religion built around the questionably achievable goal of becoming a Conduit for two opposing Spheres at once, by making a pilgrimage across the Frozen Desert. Monoduga don't generally channel the Spheres as easily as other people, and followers of Nachi hold that this is due to the hivemind.

This belief is so prevalent that in Nachisifu, the seat of the religion, hivemind access to communicate with each other or anyone outside of the city is frowned upon and even discriminated against. On the sixth day of each week, the most devout avoid even verbal communication, hoping to cut themselves off further from other people and open themselves up to on of the Spheres.

Nachisifu is essentially cut off every other settlement across Monyus because of how ingrained this belief is.
