The Ok'un are sentient, clockwork people from the land of Rinah who see themselves as the preservers of organic life. Created by the Irnah to save them from a kaiju attack, the Ok'un succeeded in defeating the beast, but failed at their primary mission of saving the people of the land before they were all wiped out. They have never forgotten this failure and refer to it as the flaw or the great sorrow, and have organized all their efforts around the singleminded goal of preventing harm to others.
The Nethermancers and Artificer Erridall created the first Ok'un as a soldier, before enlisting others to help construct more. Their main contribution was the Matrix Key which is bound with all the sigils necessary to summon the power to animate the Ok'un and give them life.
Their failure to save their makers left an imprint on their collective psyche. They spend much of their time seeking out threats and making interventions to prevent such tragedies from repeating.
Vanguard Invictus, Myriad Strider, and Daemon Leviathan gathered the Ok'un together after the final battle to keep focus their people on their new mission and the memorialize their failure to achieve their primary mission.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Ok'un are clockwork people powered by the Scintilla of Life placed in them by the Matrix Key. They are built from Asimonium a rare metal that resists corrosion and channels magic efficiently.
The first generation of Ok'un were designed as war machines, but successive generations were designed for more specialized and varied tasks and specializations.

Genetics and Reproduction

Owing to the difficulty constructing new Matrix Keys, they are rare and only a few progenitors possess them, and they are responsible for the prosperity and procreation of their division.

Ok'un feed on Sibylline Power which is refined from Delphic Ore mined in The Reverie.

Civilization and Culture

History

After the Irnah mages accidentally summoned the kaiju Diamorashi, the Ender of Days which tormented their lands destroying villages and laying waste to their population, the artificer artificer Erridall created the first Ok'un in their workshop. 

Since the foul miasma spewed forth by the kaiju caused all flesh to putrefy, Erridall made a weapon with flesh to combat the great beast. They enlisted other nethermancers to aid in their construction, and sent a phalanx against the kaiju.
The Ok'un were able to contain and entomb Diamorashi, unfortunately all the people of Rinah had been killed.
Unwilling to allow such devastation to come again, the Ok'un used the energy resources of their homeland to rebuild the empire in their own image.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

The Ok'un seen out emissaries to all peoples through out the world, not to conquer but to offer their services as the preservers of life to all that will accept them. They will not allow the fate of the Irnah to befall others.
