Missing Primogen - Introduction Story - COMPLETED Plot in Crescent City By Night | World Anvil
The Story begins with the remaining Coterie members of Quinton’s Bois being summoned to the Sheriff’s Office for a meeting. Hound Quinton of Clan Malkavian, Hound and Whip Jax of Clan Tremere, and Whip Saoirse of Clan Brujah arrive at the Sheriff’s new office in Northside Crescent City. Upon entering the conference room, Quinton’s Bois are greeted by the Sheriff, the Scourge, and two vaguely familiar Kindred. One is Douglas of Clan Toreador, and the other is Tala of Clan Ravnos. Both were chosen by their Clan Representatives to assist in the current investigation. After introductions, the Sheriff informed Quinton’s Bois that they have been chosen to lead an investigation into the missing Toreador Primogen, Sophie. As Quinton and Jax are both Hounds, and Sophie was a member of Quinton’s Bois, it seemed appropriate. Douglas and Tala were deemed useful resources for the investigation and were sent in to assist. The Sheriff provided the Coterie with what little notes he had gathered so far, including a video tape of the security footage from the Toreador Gallery Explosion which occurred roughly a Month ago, related Police Reports, and notes from a couple of Interviewed Kindred about the Primogen’s whereabouts prior to her disappearance. After handing this over, the Sheriff quickly departed. Tala and Douglas were quickly recruited into Quinton’s Bois, and the Coterie began the investigation. The provided evidence showed that a group of Kindred the Coterie didn’t recognize raided the Toreador Gallery, and broke out Primogen Sophie’s Sire named Simon. Simon was staked in a very artistic fashion and put up on display as art within the Gallery for roughly 10 years. He was fed just enough blood to be kept awake, but still paralyzed. The Kindred took Simon and then used explosives to blow up the Gallery and everything within. The video showed the van that the Kindred used to pull of the heist, but there was nothing super notable about it, and the license plates had been removed. The immediate Police Reports from the crime scene showed that everything within was absolutely destroyed and the only casualties were a couple of Janitors and a single Security Guard. There were witnesses of a Van that was speeding away right before the explosion, which was tracked across the city, heading north. The further North you travel in Crescent City, the less there are in the way of Security Cameras or Traffic Cameras that remain functional for very long. So, the Van was eventually lost. The Sheriff learned from those close to Sophie that she was last seen 2 weeks ago heading to a meeting involving the new Gallery she was establishing for the Toreador. She was seen getting into the backseat of a vehicle in Oceanview, which had a Driver waiting for her. She then drove off and was never seen again. Upon beginning their own Investigation, the Coterie uncovered that the Kindred in the video stole a Van from a Mortal and framed him for the arson of the Gallery, and that they fled to the North and into Freedom Fighter Territory. The Coterie met with Minister Eli who has been a bridge among Anarchs and Camarilla for decades, who was able to identify the Kindred in the video as Pierre Bellemare and “Blaze” of Clan Brujah and “Tears” of Clan Toreador. With Minister Eli’s help the Coterie was able to establish a meeting with the Kindred mentioned above in a couple of hours at a place called “Knotty Knitters” in Cypress Heights. On their way to the meeting, the Coterie stopped by a Biker bar they were familiar with, where Quinton used Submerged Directive and other such Dominate powers to have a biker gang show up at Knotty Knitters 20 minutes after the meeting was set to begin, and to shoot at anyone that Quinton is talking to after he uses a specific code word. The Coterie then went to the location and scouted it out, but didn’t find anyone waiting in Ambush or anything like that. Having time to kill, Quinton used his ability of Vicissitude to alter a Mortal that he was previously using as a folding Chair into a walking piano steed that he could ride out of the Coterie van and up to the meeting. When the time came, Quinton did just that while the others awaited in tactical positions in case of a fight. The Freedom Fighters pulled up in a truck and 2 4-door sedans and parked right outside the perimeter of light being offered from the only working lamp post in the area. The Kindred from the Video got out and leaned on the front of the truck. Although horrific, the sight of the Piano-Man only unnerved the younger Kindred who had never fought the Sabbat before who were waiting in the car. After a few brief words were exchanged, Simon stepped out of the back seat of on of the cars and approached Quinton. When asked if he had taken Sophie, he admitted it. When asked for Sophie back, Simon got in quinton’s face and basically said “Sure thing, she’s all yours”. He then proceeded to pull a handful of ashes out of his pocket which he then raised to his lips and blew into Quinton’s face before turning his back on Quinton and walking away. After a few steps he turned and tossed a video to Quinton saying that would show him how she suffered, then he turned to continue leaving. None of Quinton’s Bois frenzied but lept into action. Quinton declared he was under arrest and Sophie and Jax ran out of cover to join the fight. At this point a large figure jumped out of the back of the truck, a silhouette with large claws jutting from his hands. With a slight chuckle, the familiar voice asked Quinton “How disappointing, I was hoping Sparky would be here”. As he stepped into view, the Coterie could see that this was Baron Omar Espinoza and the leader of the Freedom Fighters. Omar smiled as Jax came running up, but then the fight broke loose. Jax was nearly beheaded by the Toreador known as Tears after he had used Blood Sorcery to shoot lightning from his hands, nearly incapacitating the 2 Brujah she was with. Saoirse kicked a car into Omar and squared off with him long enough for Quinton to get Simon. Quinton used his powers of Dominate to force Simon to get into the Coterie Van to be take not the Prince for Justice. Before Simon could make It to the van, he was beheaded by the Toreador known as Tears for being a coward and a traitor. This is when the Biker Gang showed up and quickly opened fire on the Freedom Fighters, covering the Coteries escape. The Coterie retreated to the Sheriff’s Office to report in that they confirmed the death of former Toreador Primogen Sophie and her Sire Simon. Upon arriving at the Sheriff’s Office the Coterie was met by more than they expected. The Sheriff, Scourge, Prince, Baron Dane, and 2 Archons were present to hear what had occurred. The Coterie reported that the Freedom Fighters bombed the Gallery to break out Simon, who then oversaw the kidnapping, torture, and, murder of Primogen Sophie. They mentioned that Simon was killed by one of the Freedom Fighters before he could be taken into custody, but the investigation is now complete. After the Coterie presented their report, the Archons informed the Prince that some of the Justicars are not confident in her ability to hold onto Praxis in Crescent City. They will be remaining in the city to watch as things unfold and will step in if they deem her unfit to lead. They then departed without another word. The Prince thanked the Coterie and then stated that she had another urgent task she needed the Coterie to look into.
