Mochi Manoban
Hello! Not exactly sure how to start this, but my name is Mochi Manoban. I was born on the planet Griez, somewhere in the Milky Way. I'm immortal, and I'm dedicating the rest of my life to discovering all of the incredible animals that lives in the Yonderverse.
I've always been fascinated by animals. They way they work, the way they interact not only with each other but with their environment and people.
My Amazing Life So Far
I was born into a small family for my species. I have a sister and a half-brother, both of which entered different industries - my sister ended up a world-renowned psychologist while my brother ran an entire fishing industry. My mother and father split not long after I was born, but I still have a good relationship with both. They both support my work; until I was 35 I worked in an animal sanctuary that rescued weird and wonderful animals from across my home country Zephiin.
My 36th birthday was a weird one. I woke up fine, half the day went as normal - I had a big breakfast, bought myself a new pet finit, but around 6pm I was struck in the head. I woke up thirty minutes later as an entirely different person, physically.
As it turns out, some supernatural force smacked me right in the face, granting me some unusual powers. I can shapeshift, I'm immortal, and I have a whole plethora of other awesome powers.
About a week ago I had a revelation. I'd spent the last 3 years spiralling, trying to come to terms with the fact that I am immortal. I am fine now, and I realised - I can do whatever I want. I have all the time in the world. What's more fun than travelling, literally across the entire Yonderverse, and checking out all of the amazing creatures? So that's exactly what I'm doing, and I'm inviting you on the journey with me.
My Lovely Art
Throughout my documents you will see some lovely, handcrafted art of mine. My art style is quite simplistic, but I enjoy it and I feel it greatly captures the vibrant colours of the Yonderverse quite well.
My Absolute Favourite Things
I like a lot of things. I like cold, crisp mornings. I like a nice cup of tea on a rainy day, sat with a blanket watching a romantic movie. I like when flowers start to pop up after the winters, and when the leaves drop during autumns. I love rolling about in fields in the height of summer, and splashing about in streams.
The one thing I would die for is a bakewell tart. I can't explain how much I love human food. Kinda sad humans are extinct, because they made AMAZING food. Give me any freshly baked pastry and I will forever love you.
Almost Owned the A to Zoo
If you like animals you've probably heard of the A to Zoo. I bet you didn't know I almost owned it.
Just six months ago I visited the A to Zoo, as I do every year. I know Rox, the zoo's curator, quite well and I've even been given access to her Private Quarters, a Sector of the zoo that requires a password to warp to. Well, six months ago, we were having a lovely conversation about a number of topics. We discussed some exciting topics; some upcoming laws and legislations that would affect the Zoo and what animals they could put on show, Rox's new mineral collection she started after venturing to a planet that was one big geode, and the possibility of me becoming a co-owner of the A to Zoo.
I have to admit, the last part surprised me. We had been talking online almost daily for the past four years so we knew each other quite well, but I felt like it came out of nowhere. Apparently she had spent the last week doing a solid background check on me to find anything that might mean she couldn't ask me, but came up with nothing.
I declined. I had to. It didn't feel right. I'd known Rox for four years. She had this zoo for the last four and a half thousand. I needed to get to know her better. Thankfully she understood and we're still great friends who talk daily, when she has the time while running an entire zoo with trillions of animal species.
I am a monthly donor to the A to Zoo, sending a third of the charms I earn from discovering new species to this organisation. You see, by submitting a document registering a new species to the Animal Documentation Society, you can earn yourself some hefty rewards. I've discovered and submitted over seven thousand species as of writing this, which has earned me millions.
My Epic Powers
Shapeshifting
My favourite, and arguably most helpful, of my powers is shapeshifting. Most planets have strikingly different climates, many toxic to me. Luckily, I can alter my entire physical body to suit my surroundings - I can morph my organs, helpful if I need to breathe in a different substance to survive.
Immortality
I'm immortal, which is honestly horrifying. At first it was cool, but then it hit me. I'm going to be the last person alive. Unless there are other immortal people around, somewhere. But, I'm going have to say goodbye to everyone I love, everyone I will ever love, and that frightens me.
Animalistic Communications
I'm still improving my abilities, but I can talk to animals! Sometimes, and only some species. I am super fast at learning animal languages which is helpful when I want to learn more about a particular species.
I have many more powers, but if I listed and talked about them all we would be here all day.
