Edronius

High Combine

Edronius is a recent graduate of Phendyrimoth’s tower, who attained the rank of High Combine at a very young age. Only magicians who have mastered the delicate art of combing multiple and contrasting magic schools together ever earn this legendary title. Combination Magic is considered a very risky field of study, as combining different magics into functional and usable spellcraft can yield unexpected and explosive results. Yet this craft fits Edronius’ wild personality well. Edronius is a bit of a rebel, who grew up play fencing with one too many gladiators. He also has a feverish desire for the open road, given that his father was a famous trapper who took him on many expeditions trapping exotic beasts to be used in the games.   Phendyrimoth’s infamous tower is the most famous magic school of all Covent, hidden south of Capital Doljinaar in a remote isle in the icy arctic sea known as the Haraglace. It was there Davril met the young Bladecaster, Davril, and the pair became inseparable, even graduating at the same time and embarking on many adventures together. Edronius’ bolder, wilder personality and ideas is often offset by Davril’s level head, but the pair makes an excellent team.   Despite his wild nature, Edronius can be quite heroic and often comes to the aid of those in need. Due to rising prejudice in the High Mage Order, Edronius has found himself pushed out of the rest of the order like other red robes. Red Robes once represented the natural balance of magic in the West, mastering magics of both the light and dark schools. However, the high browed bigotry of the light robes first drove the dark robes from the order and the red robes were later persecuted as well, given that half of their studies still revolved around dark now “forbidden” magics. Deep down, Edronius’ main desire is to bring balance and equality back to the High Mage Order.
