Term: Hit Points
Hit Points represent a creature's health value, or the amount of punishment a creature can take before it falls Unconscious and begins dying. Damage decreases Hit Points on a 1-to-1 basis, while healing restores Hit Points at the same rate.
There are 2 other forms of HP mechanically, which are Armor HP and Temporary HP. There is also the concept of "Average HP" for GMs and other bookkeeping.
