Term: "Average HP"
A term for creatures in the bestiary, and sometimes players. Means two different things, however, in this regard.
For Bestiary creature statistics, Average HP represents the HP formula of a creature, boiling it down to the middle ground of their Max HP and a potentially lower value. This takes the average dice value from such, as well as their base statistics and their TL. As an example, a creature of TL 2 with a d8 hit dice and +3 CON would have HP equal to 2 * (5 + 3), or an HP of 16, rather than 24 or 2d8+6 .
For Players, Average HP is the average dice amount of their Hit Dice. For example, Barbarian has a d12 hit dice and would gain at least 7 HP per level. With 5 class levels and 3 CON, a Barbarian of that level would have an Average HP of 5 * (7 + 3), or 50, if they took the average HP value. You know, instead of rolling 5d12+15 .
