Term: Hit Dice / HD

Hit Dice represent a creature’s general level of health based on their power, used for recover purposes and, at times, a resource to be used when called for. It recovers on a Long Rest when expended, and can be used to replenish health during Swift and Short rests.
Hit dice aren't often dice, but it's more fun to imagine if they were.
