Magical sources have or leave behind an aura. Such auras can be read with spells, such as Detect Magic, and are nullified in places of Antimagic.
A source's magic power level and/or Ability Rank will often denote what aura the source of magic has, as well as the tradition it corresponds to (if any).
In CHASE, the mechanics of magic items and the lingering effects they leave go beyond numerical or narrative value. Some effects rely on, or interact with, the aura of an object, item, location, or even an ability used at the time. As such, many things, such as Detect Magic use this rule and this table to illustrate magic's effect on the world.
Each source of magic has an aura, whether or not the item or source is in active use or not. The chart below will help decipher what each rating or moniker may mean when described.

Effects successfully supressed with effects involving Antimagic (Such as
Counterspell or
Spell: Negate Spell) diminish or fully hide the aura, until it is imperceptible (as if there was no magic). This also occurs if the aura itself is suppressed, as with
Hide Magic Aura.
