This broom looks like any other, save for a few etchings in the handle and, often, an odd bend toward the back. It functions like any other, until you speak it's command word.
Once spoken, the broom hovers in the air, and can be ridden and commanded like a steed. While using this broom, you gain Flying Movement equal to your proficiency bonus times 10 (minimum 50 ft). The broom can carry at most 20 Bulk, then starts losing -5 ft of movement per 1 Bulk over this amount (as per Carrying Capacity rules).
You may also speak the Broom's command word to send it across a distance of 1 mile / 1.6 km away. You must speak the name of the location and be familiar with the location in question. You may recall the broom by speaking the command word and being within the above range. The travel time between any location within that range is 10 minutes / a Swift Rest.
The magic of this item can be placed or transferred to a Rune for storage and/or later enchanting via the
corresponding activity. The new item would be called a "Rune of Flight r1", using the same rules of the
Enchant of the same name.
The rune has the same application properties as the Enchant.
