A bit is an item akin to a trinket, often small and unassuming, and easily mistaken for a badge or pin. This bit, however, when attached, gives an item a sturdy, magical aura that protects both it and it's wearer.
While wearing the item this bit is attached you, you gain a +1 to your AC, and your Saves increase by an amount equal to your
Half-Proficiency.
The magic of this item can be placed or transferred to a Rune for storage and/or later enchanting via the
corresponding activity. The new item would be called a "Rune of Protection".
This Rune can be placed on any piece of apparel or jewelry.
