CF: Potent Casting

...

When using an Ability (such as a Spell or a Maneuver), you may choose to increase its potency at no cost.

For every Standard Action / ◈, or Free Action / ◇, used in Casting/Using the ability (including when reduced/refunded by another source the Ability's damage or Healing is increased by an amount equal to your ability's modifier or your Proficiency Bonus (whichever is higher) times the amount of actions used/saved.

As an example, Using Blazing Bolt uses ◈◈. If your spellcasting modifier is +4, Blazing Bolt would deal 1d12+8 Fire Damage.

Mages, Channelers, and to a lesser degree Initiators all rely on their abilities to do damage or function in combat. As such, this purely combat oriented common feature is given to these classes around level 5.
