Named after Operation Overlord, part of the allied landings in Normandy, this flagship of the Terran Meritocracy highlights just how little they can let go of the past, or their heritage from Sol III aka Terra. Meritoracy ships are often named after world war II battles, ships, locations, or similar noteworthy circumstances. That they've lost access to all such locations for hundreds of years should not escape the casual observer's notice, nor is it an accident. In many ways, Terran Meritocracy polities are like children, going 'notice me sempai' in a cheap anime.

The second most celebrated name in terran meritocracy after TMS Enterprise, its presence on the list of honour of the terran meritoracy should surprise no one.
