Tlakla Votive Candles
"Well, that was exciting, and what are these?" He pointed to small, nondescript candles, on the floor.
"What?"
"Our tall friend left those behind."
"Don't touch them, they could be dangerous."
"But..."
"Bag them, without touching them, maybe they can be analysed later, for now, we're leaving."
History
Used in the worship of the Tlalor deities, these candles are made with pure Deathstone Tarantula ambergris. Laced with psychedelic venoms, the burning creates 3d temporary sculptures in smoke, who, when breathed in, can cause hallucinations in higher-order beings, and is lethal to insects and some smaller mammals, like rats(who are the natural prey of a deathstone tarantula).
Significance
The burning smoke, known to provoke hallucinations, is holy to the Tlalor, who consider it a touch of the divine, and the electrochemical affects on their basalt-glass bodies is one of the few things that can throw their emotions out of whack.
