Rasuchi

The Rasuchi are a nomadic people who travel in caravans. Rasuchi are generally disliked by people due to their demonic looking features, but Rasuchi in fact share no heritage to demons despite common belief. Rasuchi are also generally disliked because they are stereotypically described as thieves and witches. The Rasuchi have strange bizarre customs and many people fear their children will run off to join the Rasuchi caravans. Rasuchi have an extremely short life span typically living only to the age of 50. Despite this Rasuchi breed and mature exceptionally fast so their population remains one of the largest in the world. Due to their short lifespan, Rasuchi tend to have a care free, live in the moment type of attitude. Many Rasuchi leave the caravan life to become adventurers. Although Rasuchi are nomadic and have no sense of government they are united by one source, that being religion. The Rasuchi religion is strictly monotheistic. The Rasuchi god represents fierce individuality. This quality is the most important aspect of the life of a Rasuchi. Rasuchi will go to extreme lengths to look different from other Rasuchi. This typically comes in the form of body modification through tattoos, piercings, branding, or even more extreme measures. Every Rasuchi also carries a totem depicting their god. No two totems look alike, as all Rasuchi carve and shape them to their individual idea of how the god looks.

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

Most Rasuchi primarily speak Imperial Common, however due to their travel most of them speak at least 2 other languages, often times more. Rasuchi as a race have a particular ear for language, with some being able to learn a new language almost to fluency in less than a month.

Shared customary codes and values

Rasuchi culture is essentially founded on the ideal of freedom on expression and choice. Due to this there is very little that is seen as taboo in their culture. These values produce individuals that tend to be extremely outspoken defenders of concepts such as freedom of speech. This has lent the Rasuchi a reputation as champions of the downtrodden and oppressed, but the massive amounts of propaganda surrounding them means that commoners tend to be wary if not downright hostile to them.

Common Dress code

Due to their focus on individuality, Rasuchi don't have a standard of dress like many other peoples. if there is anything that approaches one however, it's bright, gaudy, and consists of entirely too many layers. Many often add onto this even more decoration, bells, tassels, and bangles, contributing even more to their outlandish experience. Because of their tendency to dress so wildly they are often targets for the enforcement of Imperial Sumptuary laws, leading to even more animosity between the Rasuchi and governing bodies.

Art & Architecture

The Rasuchi are natural artists, but tend to stay away from grand architectural projects. Instead the majority of their creative talent goes towards either their clothing or the colorful wagons of their caravans. Their wagons are frequently decorated with murals depicting elements of their folklore or brightly colored patterns. Like their owners, every wagon is unique with rich history from having been passed down through the generations.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals

Apart from the gaudy clothing and loud music that accompanies almost every band of Rasuchi, there are totems. Usually worn around the neck or hung from the belt. These totems depict the wild God of the Rasuchi. There is but one requirement for these totems, that it be hand made by the one wearing it. There is no standard for the appearance of the Great Horned God, in fact, attempted to establish one would be seen as a sin against him. The uniqueness and individual expression contained in each is the primary reason of the totems, a connection to their God, and a reminder that he loves them, no matter what shape they come in.
