The Bane Sarcophagus

Before the Mnorh were a people, the 24 elder gods once dwelt in physical form on planet Ziln in its turbulent tri-sun system. The suns threatened to tear the world apart as they reached their convergence.

All the elder gods, but one--Gnar, came together, combining their powers to shield Ziln and the budding new life forms they had created. Gnar cared, he just felt hopeless and that the effort was in vain. So he sealed himself in a cave, where his dark thoughts where his only company. While there, he carved an ornate death mask and sarcophagus deep in the heart of the planet. Had he been aware what the other gods had done, he might have chosen differently. For the other gods had used him as a vessle which to transfer all their negative thoughts, so they could concentrate on the draining task of saving the planet. Their reasoning was that the sacrifice of one for a time was worth saving the lives of many.

When Gnar found out their treachery, it was too late to save his sanity. No amount of healing would rescue him. Dark thoughts made him feel more lucid than he had in decades. So he put on his death mask--not for himself but those that betrayed him. Every last one would die.

This humble story teller will spare you the grizzly acts commited. But the heart of each betrayer was placed in the sarcophagus. And Gnar disappeared for eons, until the Mnorh became a people. Then new gods arrived, poking around discovering the now rotten heart of the planet. Since they had an obedient group of hands and feet--the Mnorh, they told the ancestors of thse who would father the Khuzgish of the terrible secret and urged them to leave the planet before it wasted away from the curse. Over millenia they were abel to do so. But the Khuzgish were not able to take all of the Mnorh before the Gods insisted they leave. The Tilgish were left on a barren planet with the Bane Sarcophagus, unaware of the darkness that lay below Trantoo Single Peak Range. Though, they understood something evil lurked there.
