Osekan

The city of Oseka and its unique culture has had long-ranging impacts still felt by society today. Although not all impacts are positive or negative, a sample of impacts this city has had on its neighbors can be most easily sorted into the following lists:

Positive Impacts

  1. Going back to primitive times, Oseka provided the Henin with a safe harbor to experiment with sailing on the ocean
  2. Beautiful and varied architecture, an eclectic style widely copied elsewhere
  3. Inspired generations of people to study the sciences and taken active interest in the world's technological and ecological future, largely thanks the amazing research and community outreach done by Meridian Academy and its less prestigious branch, Azudis Community College.
  4. Encouraged nations who would otherwise be at odds and go to war make peace with each other in the name of economics
  5. Set the standard for city planning with a mixed species community in mind
  6. Neither truly negative or positive, but Oseka is the birthplace of certain fashion trends that still excite and haunt fashion historians today because of their extreme love of ruffles and frills.

Negative Impacts

  1. After Oseka's destruction, the world economy tanked and plunged nearby regions into a depression
  2. Bombs, used scarcely before, became a wartime norm as other nations admired just how thoroughly the aggressor managed to eliminate the city
  3. Generations impacted by illicit trade common - and just as commonly overlooked for a large enough bribe - in the port city
  4. Although classism has laways existed in Kivrian societies, Oseka is accused of glorifying the wealthy to such an extreme that they made laws to protect them from criminal investigations so long as they pay their taxes on time... And these laws invented by Osekans are now in the books of several nations today, partially inspired by the city's example.
