Babikiye

A contemplative, hopepunk science fantasy experiment by Aster Vela
Science Fantasy
Magic is science that the people of Babikiye haven't quite figured out yet, if you ask a scientist. Science is magical research projects that magicians started and scientists stole, if you ask a magician.   The laws of physics which define our universe are almost the same here, with a handful of significant differences which allows magitech to flourish for those with the means to harness it.
Hopepunk
Babikiye is a large world. Both its past and future are full of possibilities to explore. It is neither totally bright nor dark, though different stories within may be more biased towards one or another.   At the end of the day, Babikiye champions those who fight for their hopes and dreams, even if they themself may not live long enough to see their work come to fruition.
Exploratory
There is not one, but two, entire worlds for our many protagonists to explore. They discover many wonders and horrors along the way.
WIP
Babikiye is a significant work in progress. Many of the published articles are still drafts, since I am learning how to best write this codex as I go. Patience and kindness is humbly requested. Enjoy the mess!
Habitually Queer
Queer content is my default. It may not always be loud or center stage, but it's inherent to the work.
Adult 18+
Babikiye is pretty tame and warns for graphic and/or explicit content where relevant, but all content is created by an adult for other adults.
"The universe knows no borders. For better and for worse, we must draw our own lines."
— Nanatu Zylpeiros
Two planets and six peoples, inextricably linked via our Creator's magic. Over millennia, we have woven our story, each of our voices a thread in the intricate tapestry of fate and free will that defines our one and only universe, Babikiye.
Though our universe may be one of infinite variety, our tapestry is vulnerable to the ravages of time. Year after year, people die, civilizations vanish, and monuments erode. Threads lost forever in an endless void sea.   The archive before you now is but one response to the ever growing challenge of preserving our legacies. My hope is that as we share our stories and we read the contents within our archive, that we may reconsider the lines we have drawn between one another. May it remind us all that our most extraordinary discoveries lay where our lines converge, because only together may our tapestry persevere.   Cordially Yours,
Ezeki
