Aleanad Empire

The largest kingdom in terms of area, and population. The empire has sought to expands it control in the last several decades.
Any Lord of Aleanad, there are currently about 50, may challenge the emperor to a duel, where the emperor sets the rules which may be any kind of rules. If the challenger still accepts then the fight takes place. If they decline at this point they lose their Lordship. The winner of the fight becomes emperor and can chose to spare them or kill them. They keep their titles whether they win or lose, but if the emperor loses they obviously lose the title of emperor. Historically emperors who lost did have another title to go back to. A rule can include the option to have a champion.
Following the take over by Marae Argiir the empire has been reorganized into part of the Argiir Ascendency.

Structure

While it is ruled by the Emperor, they do not have absolute power. The Council of Navarene is the official ruling body of the empire. The head of the council is the Emperor. This council consists of the Lord Intelligencer, Lord Commander, Lord Treasurer, Lord Chancellor, and Lord Sovereign.
These five people control the day to day operations of the Empire. They are appointed by the Emperor, and can only be changed by the Emperor and other 4 members of the council agreeing. The Lord Sovereign is the next in line for the title of Emperor, and is usually the Emperors next of kin. As it stands now the positions are
