The Isles of Soemerild are a very hot and humid region. Because of this, the Soemer have grown accustomed to wearing very thin clothing to combat the heat. Often wearing garments that only cover their upper legs and chest with light, breathable fabrics for casual clothing. Only the more formal outfits tend to cover the entire body, most commonly in the form of long, silk robes.

Art & Architecture

The Soemer are fond of depicting humanoids in their artistic pieces. Most paintings are portraits or depictions of battles, the majority of sculptures are busts or figurines, and songs are often hero ballads. It is very common for these people to have portraits of themselves or loved ones in their homes or to sing songs of each other on holidays.   The most popular motif in Soemer art is the Kenshu. Whether displayed as conquerors or defenders, the Kenshu have an undeniable presence in Soemer culture. Undoubtedly due to their connection to the settlement of the isles.   Another common subject or feature in artistic pieces are flowers, particularly brightly colored flowers. Being native to an island dominated on one side by dense rain forest and by wide open fields on the other, flowers are a rarity on Gadene. Only growing in very remote locations with specific conditions, trees and other plants that flower are an oddity that few see in person. They have become a symbol of beauty and rarity because of this, a very exclusive beauty. Rich nobles pay extremely high labor costs to keep certain flowering trees alive on their estates.   The architectural style of the Soemer is fairly unique. Their structures are typically made of wood with sliding doors and thatched roofs. The roofs of Soemer buildings are characteristically concave.
