Dilbridge (DIL-bridj)

City in northeastern Calize, along the south shore of Middomere and on the bank of the Salthor River. Dilbridge controls the source of the Salthor River and, consequently, the primary trade access to and from Middomere.

Demographics

At 5,810 inhabitants, the city has a small population, by city standards. About 3,250 live within the walls and the remaining 2,560 or so live in the sprawl beyond.

Government

Although Dilbridge is the size of a large town, by Calizan standards, it was granted a city charter by the crown in TA 3249.

Infrastructure

The city proper is surrounded by a sturdy and well-defended wall. The Wanport district outside the city on the west side boasts a stockade, but the rest of the outbuildings are unprotected by walls. There are plans to extend the city walls around the Wanport district and to extend a stockade around the rest of the outer city by the end of TA 3188. Construction is planned to begin in early 3188.

  Dilbridge is the gateway to the northeast. In particular, the city controls access to and from Middomere and the surrounding settlements to the north, and to the Salthor River and thus to the majority of Calize to the southwest.
  Although it still plays an important role in trade with the southern, central, and western portions of Calize, its importance has been declining for some time and visitors can see the effects of that decline, in one way or another, throughout the city.
