Rose's Gambit

Rose's Gambit is a house game at the Halcyon Rose . It involves several betting and dice-rolling rounds where players determine who has the best total die values.

How To Play

Buy-In: 100 gold

1. Players roll 1d4 (The Chip) and keep the result hidden. They can raise (increase the bet), fold (forfeit the round and lose their bet), call (match another player's raise), or check (if their current bet matches the highest bet).
2. Once the first round is complete, each player rolls 1d6 (The Steady) and keeps it hidden. Another round of betting occurs. 
3. In the third and final round, the remaining players roll 1d8 (The Swing), keeping it hidden. A final round of betting occurs. 
4. Once the betting is finished, the remaining players reveal their dice. 
5. The player with the highest total dice value wins. If two players have the same total, the pot is split.

Optional Rules:

Players who frequent the Halcyon Rose will be familiar with a variant ruleset in which players roll the dice in whatever order they like. For example, some players prefer to roll The Swing last, while others prefer to roll it first.
