Beran Aerrin
Sir Beran Aerrin
First and only son of Princess Bialle Beth and Lord Othar Aerrin.
Like his father, Sir Beran was prickly of his pride, even in his youth. Other lordlings made light of his name, especially Lord Othar's sons from his first marriage, Waaran and Paadreg. Young Beran got into many fights as a child, and even in knighthood he was better at armed combat than riding or jousting.
Lord Othar died when Beran was scarce seven, and Princess Bialle brought him to Revelback with his younger sister Vera and his half-sister Beseda from his mother's first marriage. It was here that Beran became a squire, receiving his knighthood at sixteen years and riding north to fight in the Stock Wars.
Sir Beran famously returned home only once. His mother's third husband, Lord Ruhan Capall, was caught abed with Princess Bialle's first daughter Beseda, who had just entered majority. Upon hearing this, Sir Beran abandoned his post to ride back to Revelback, with the announced intention of slaying Lord Ruhan in a Monosi duel. He arrived to find Lord Ruhan already dead: gelded, his tongue torn out, and died of illness brought on by the procedures. Sir Beran spat upon his grave, hopped on his horse, and returned to the front with scarcely a word for his mother, and no words for his sisters.
Sir Beran died in the Fourth Battle of Southael in 939 RA.
