Most Holy and Esteemed Chivalric Order of the Silver Hawks

Based in Noelred, and called the Most Holy and Esteemed Chivalric Order of the Silver Hawks, these knights answer to the King of Noelred, and their patron saint is Euchaid. Silver Hawk knights are created from pre-existing knights, and by monarchial appointment, because they are the super-elite chivalric order in Noelred, and their mission is service to the high king and his family, homeland defense, and as special diplomatic agents. The Silver Hawk crest is spurs on a field of azure and or. The knights’ livery consists of a hawk-shaped, silver badge, and an interconnected, silver plate belt. Their knightly oath is precedential over all others the knight may have taken.

There are 36 knights in this order, with no supernumerary members. They never were intended to act as a collective unit, so all the brother knights are of equal status. This order keeps a commandery in Castle Sablestone, and then a smaller sub-commandery in each Noelred city or town. Each knight is given a post or wardship, such as a specific bridge, road, or castle. That becomes their duty to safeguard and keep a percentage of the proceeds collected there. This order’s bonuses include instant access to the high king and his family; the right to bear arms in the Ard-Ri's presence; the Noelredii royal writ of authority; and complete legal immunity and unlimited hospitality in Noelred.
