Blessed Chivalric Order of the Most Worthy Keepers

Based in Alusia, and called the Blessed Chivalric Order of the Most Worthy Keepers, these knights answer to the Petty Co-King and Petty Co-Queen of Alusia, and their patron saint is Baldric. Induction is awarded by monarchial appointment only. The Keeper’s reputation hinges more on their roles as wizards and healers, not on their martial use. They represent the monarchial will and voice, and they serve as marshalls of the military forces of each island. This marshall function may sound counterintuitive, but their military roles are administrative and strategic, not battlefield-based. The Keeper’s crest is a mason’s compass, or, on a field of purpure, engrailed by sable and argent checkers.

Their livery is a golden sash and an Alusian steel sword of the order. Keeper Knights swears the standard knightly oath. There are twenty-one knights in this order, being one Grand-Master Keeper who serves the monarch; four Masters being one for each island; and sixteen knights for four per island. There are an unspecified number of serjeants who are probationary members, waiting for a slot to open in the full order. The knights carry full legal authority, but they also have access to the secret magik libraries and great occult minds of Fenwidden University. Their commandery is in Fenwidden Cathedral, in a dedicated Chapel of Baldric.
