WorldEMBER Reading Challenge and New Years Resolutions
Happy 2025, Anvilities and fellow worldbuilders!
Before I truly begin this challenge, I wish to begin this update with a moment of silence.
(Moment of Silence)
Thank you! As many know, I lost my grandmother in 2023. And some may know I lost a dear friend in 2014 and December was his 10-year death anniversary. I have an article inspired by him on my second world which I wanted to write for WorldEMBER on my third world (all same world, different writing styles as I've grown) but never got the chance. I will this year.
What many of you don't know is probably my history of death of family members. But all you need to know for now is that I have been fine emotionally. Anyway, I somehow felt my friend's death deeper than any other. You think I wouldn't but maybe I was sick of going to funerals (which I am). I spent a a majority of the last ten in grief over losing him and the first four in deep depression, anxiety, and just surviving day-to-day without people knowing.
Except I didn't quite fool my now-only-living grandparent and my aunt. They could tell something was up. i wanted to be comfortable in my grief and at a place where I could share before publicly coming out (both as being gay and sharing that I was grieving ironically enough).
FUN FACT: I came out on National Coming Out Day (NCOD) which is on 10/11 or 11/10 every year.
Anyway, to avoid any further shooting of the "Depression/Grief Gun", I shal now continue with good news.
Since SC, my real life has had me truly going a thousand directions and being part of many things and then the holidays showed up.
I quit my job in September. While I would HIGHLY not recommend living life the way I am currently, I had good reasons to quit. My main reason was I needed to leave and do something else. However, toxicity in the eviroment also led me to do quit for my sake.'
My sister got married in October. I was in the wedding. Loved it but god damn, being in the wedding is no joke! I was the brother of the bride and was also a groomsmen.
Funny Story Time: Right before the wedding, I did something that is bad, escpecially for the brother of the bride and I am not dead yet. I went to the bathroom/the toilet right before walking my mother down the aisle. Not my greatest moment!
Sister knows and doesn't want to kill me now. Day of, she probably would've.
And if you think that isn't busy, well...
Dad also decided to run and is now our city mayor. Yeah, this part was and is not the funniest thing we have done. So yeah, my end of year went to hell. Yeppers.
Not sure I am excited yet for 202?, oh what year is it again? 2022? 2000? 1833? I don't know.
Before I truly begin this challenge, I wish to look back at WorldEMBER 2024 and reminisce before closing another year and another chapter.
For WorldEMBER 2024, I created 39 new articles and wrote 20,015 words. I absolutely wish I could've had more time to finish three more articles but all good things must come to an end. However, I shall complete them now since WorldEMBER has come and gone.
Other than that, I am excited for another year and am hoping to be filled with energy for more worldbuilding, Dazz's help (you know exactly what I'm talking about ROAR), and the comradarie we all share.
I also wish to thank E. Christopher Clark, Lady Wynter, Polina "Line" Arteev, Lexi Con (WordiGirl), K.S. Bishoff and probably many more for their continued support, encouragement, and help throughout my time thus far as an Anvilite/Bean/insane person with ADD/ADHD/Autism. Thank you guys for help, support, the world and more!
Should I set my plans in stone?
(All raise their hands and say, "What you think, you son of a nutcracker?!")
My non-worldbuilding focus for 2025 is to ensure the reading experience is up to snuff with my vision. This includes different writing styles, images and text boxes (containers and sections).
My second focus is to continue learning about containers and sections BBC/CSS and make a list of all containers and sections (and perhaps keep it updated).
My third focus is to maybe gain some readership. I can do this by drawing readers into my world by ensuring different writing styles, images, and much more are able to entice people and imerse them into my world! They'll help me improve because I can always improve!
My fourth focus is to create an accurate timeline up to Your Inner Child: Book 1,
My fifth focus to use (read try out) all core features of master and grandmaster levels. I have used most of grandmaster but not all and haven't used content trees.
As part of the fifth focus, I want to continue writing my novel on Manuscripts so Anvilites
Outside of using World Anvil, I want to be on WA Twitch Streams and eventually get a Dimi-Mission.
My worldbuilding focus is to write all articles. Some that will be private, and some that are public from the get-go. I wish to write and finish all articles.
Some like Baxter Jevon Oran Baggs can have a public status but also have spoilers written in secret.
For now, articles being written are the most important. Different writing styles in one article, CSS, and other things are of minor importance. Articles are hard to write the first time much less with CSS and differing styles so these things, while important, are now on the back burner.
Later I will improve them with CSS and all else.
NOTE: All articles known before Your Inner Child: Book One have not yet been written. Most of them have been written and when I finish three more articles, all known things will be public and published. No date set for this. Hopefully, I will done by May Day.
It is also time I allow any Anvilite to not only read my worldbuilding but also Your Inner Child: Book One as I will release the first five chapters before April 30th AKA beginning of Summer.
While this isn't specifically a focus, I am continuing my SAGE membership. I want to hear the seminars and also have access to the playlist. I also have a special playlist of SAGE Seminars that I deem "of vital importance to my work" and these I need to watch throughout the year now that WoldEMBER has ended.

New Years Resolution

Okay. I get it, people. I give in. I will set my plans in stone.
Yes, Dazz. I am a son of a nutracker. You should know this?!

Articles I Found Fascinating and Want to Share or I Learned From
As states in this article, W.I.L.L.O.W.W.I.S.P. is devoted to providing a healthy enviroment, physically and mentally and spiritually and emotionally as they strive to be beter than many real-life companies and agencies (Is this true, Wordi? I hope so!). Part of this is allowing time off for employees to see friends and family and to relax.
It depends on circumstances but many do break on a regular basis to avoid burnout.
If you learn nothing else, please learn that it IS okay to step away from work and other commitments for your own sake, everyone must relax and break away from the monotany known as career and jobs and adulting.
Within the CLU (Clark Literary Universe) and its' very own River Without End that destroys reality, was something that seemed like a good idea but wasn't and though it's now gone, we still must talk about it.
I enjoyed this article because it is a tale about an action and its' consequences with a learned lesson at the end. The consequences were unintentional because they believed erasing memories of an old life is easier to get people situated in a new iteration of reality. I would agree with this. However, I also know many would be asking about their reality even it is gone for good.
Emberwake, while long, is a well-thought out tradtion and it is in the season of Winter so I would say very Wintertide. If I were to write a comment, "Emberwake is well-thought out and certainly seems worthy of celebration. This article feels like someone who wrote about the tradition from an academic perspective but was there during this celebration." I actually will comment but I do love how in-depth this article went into a tradition.
Owen Davies has created the grimdark post-apocalyptic world of Nonvyrox. And while I haven't explored this world for multiple reasons (none of which are Oaster2000's fault), I stumbled upon this article. It is Nonvyrox's version of Ley Lines. That got me interested as I too have decided the article I did on my second world shoud be expanded and so Ley Lines is now going to be an article on this world.
I truly like the organization and layout of this article. Just thinking about how I could improve my layout and organization for my pags on my own world!
Apotheosis is an article by written in January for "12 in 12" Unofficial Challenge January Prompt: Transition. something I will also be participating in as well! I accidently clicked on it and because it was done so soon after the closing of WorldEMBER, I will say it was in WorldEMBER.
I am going to be honest. I have not yet read this article. But I am sure it's awesome as I have skimmed it. Also, it's not bout the content but about the one thing that matters as much as content, PRESENTATION!
I was truly impressed on my first look at the presentation and the layout. It feels well-organized, thought-provoking, and I am looking forward to reading this interesting piece soon!
I personally feel like I need to organize and layout my articles better. So, I am looking forward to doing just that after my known worldbuilding is in place.
This article is written by Demongrey in their world, A Million Islands. While the author is not new, please go show him our continued comraderie and love from the community. And he just celebrated five years as a bean! Isn't Demongrey a wonderful and talented writer and worldbuilder?!
The Tower of Babel is a terrorist organization, something I highly recommend against being apart of. But The Tower of Babel as a worldbuuilding article is well-written and the CSS is amazing! I truly haven't read the entire artile but I am also very impressed by what BUGHOLDERS EPIPHANY accomplished in this article. And while very long, I hope to master CSS one day to do cool stuff.
The world it's apart of, Withered Worlds, is not my cup of tea but I highly recommend people checking out the world as I wat him to continue feeling the comraderie and love from the community. And just so you know, BUGHOLDERS EPIPHANY is turning 10WA this year! A decade of them being on this site is amazing!
I want to wish them a really early Happy 10th Anniversary!
NOTE: While terrorism and terrorist organizations are part of our world, please stay away from them. They are terrible people who just want to injure and kill more people unfortunately!
This article is my second article from ECC because of WICKED being a recent release. I figured if he did an article in oz, I would cover it. And he did!
ECC is someone I've gotten to know over the years from Twitch and WA. While ADD/ADHD and just being himself, he is truly passionite about his world and creating something that might be a little different from what people are used to. I would describe his universe as a mashup of the Earths in MARVEL FRACHISE and a land where fairytales & public domain books and time-traveling, reality-warping adventurers collide!
Though this article is short and sweet, it is written with ECC's voice shining through.
Rich Rocks Mining Company is written by the wonderful and powerful Tillerz in her world, Alana. It is a great article written only in the way Tillerz can. I enjoyed reading it and so would you! Her worldbuilding is so inspiring and even just time-bending because you could spend hours, days or milennia within Alana. Days alone just in Bridgeport County!
While I have read many article from (her?), I have not yet gotten the chance to interact with Tillerz. Probably busy as I know she's running the whole damn world! But regardless of her status or time, I have read many of her articles, probably because I've gotten lost on Alana and had to portal myself back to my world.
And I didn't get a chance to write on either of these articles but I also throughly enjoyed reading Gnarlwood Sentinel and Eldermarrow, also by Tillerz.
Anyway, I stumbled across this article. It was a well-written, enjoyable article which I think is about something really cool. What I like the most is how it has spread to corners of the world that other traditions haven't and each corner's wreath is different and like them and not like the orginal.
If I wasn't so tired, I would be able to say more.
This article, which I haven't read, looks well-organized and the presentation is great! I wish to improve my own world so it looks similiar to this.

Thanks for including Apotheosis in your list! Happy New Year!
Thought I replied. But thank you for supporting me!
