Christmas Season Midway Point

June is a special month in Santa's Village. It marks two signifcant and special events and a week-long holiday for Santa's helpers. These celebrations are a time for relaxation and rest. Although all in the valley do a lot of celebrating for they now take a well-deserved break.

Summer Solstice - Litha

The Summer Solstice, occuring around june 21st begins this week with solemnity. Many years have passed but the Christmas Elves and Christmas Reindeer - Flyers often pray on this day. This is especially when the North Pole glimmers brightly for a minute.   Who do they pray to? What do they pray for? They pray to the Creators and they wish for Humanity to return back to a time long ago when the world was simpler.   As Nicholas and the Guardians do their Litha Ceremony, the others often have a thankful moment.   As the first day of holiday ends, Santa's entire workforce soon embraces the joyous celebrations of what is to come.   A few days pass.

Santa and Leon Day

At some point after creating and working in Santa's Toy Workshop Compound, June 24th became Leon Day.
The history of Leon Day in Christmastide Valley is unknown. Ancient Power Historians only know thay the earliest mention of a Leon Day is 1000AD and only in Christmastide Valley. Humans truly did not have this day as holiday until later.[aloud]   Calling the halfway mark to Christmas Leon Day has a poetic sense to it. After all, "Leon" is "Noel" spelled backward, and what a wonderful symbol that brings to life a jouyous and hopeful feeling! This day, while marking an important date, also is celebrated with a small ceremony.   [aloud] (Santa) It is Leon Day. And so, Happy Leon Day!   (All) Happy Leon Day!   And it is today that our countdown means we must get busy for only six months until I leave to give children Joy and Love and Hope.   Elves, you must hurry now!   Reindeer, it is time you begin training! For we soon must leave!   And now, I give you all the All-Clear to Proceed Choatically. It is time this whole operation speeds up!
After the next day, many of the departments feel different. An energy that wasn't there before. The elves somehow make more toys in a day than earlier in the year. Maybe the candy canes and other sweets help with enerrgy levels?

Participants

Everyone in Santa's Family has a role to play. If the retired elves wish to help, this is the time of year they do so unless an emergency happens.
