crystalline harmonics that utilizes healing magic to enhance crystals in order to produce magical effects.
Magical Amplification
Recent experimentation with
seinn crystals has led to the discovery that crystals imbued with magic change the nature of the amplification. Specific magical energies create a reaction that, when sound is passed through a crystal, causes the vibrations to evoke and amplify the magic stored within. So far, the only widely used application of this discovery is with healing magic. When harmonic sound is played into healing-imbued seinn crystals, it creates a "pulse" of magic from the crystal. This pulse causes a slight stirring of healing energy within a person. While not enough to fix major wounds, prolonged exposure to these crystals can drastically decrease the time it takes to recover from illnesses, minor wounds, and other afflictions. However, dissonant sound played through a healing-imbued crystal will creature negative pulses, which inflict pain and weakness on those exposed.
This breakthrough has led to healing halls across Allurel utilizing enhanced seinn crystals in their efforts to heal the sick and injured. Many have added small stages to their main rooms where singers and musicians are invited to perform at all hours of the day, providing the harmonics necessary to activate the magic within the crystals. Elven performers are in particularly high demand for this service.
Very recently, elves of
Feá Airgid have taken this technology one step further by building a new, specialized healing hall beneath their grand concert hall. Called
The Singing Halls, these healing chambers lie beneath Fuaim Nadur's main performance area and are equipped with dozens of healing-imbued crystals. While normal folk can enjoy the magnificent performances put on by the elves above, dozens of sick and injured can rest in the halls below under the exposure of the enhanced crystals.
