Stephen Langdon

Stephen Langdon

A renowned Assyriologist, Langdon was born in America and earned degrees from the University of Michigan, Union Theological Semiminary, and Columbia University. He did further studies in France and then moved to Oxford University, becoming a British citizen. Thus, while his student Henry Field is an American who speaks with a British accent, Langdon is an Englishman who sounds like someone from the American Midwest. While there are none who doubt Langdon's expertise, the unfortunate circumstances of his birth on the wrong side of the Atlantic have kept him from the various perks that he would otherwise be entitled to at Oxford. These subtle slights have made him even more driven to succeed.   Langdon is an ordained deacon of the Church of England and conducts prayer services every Sunday morning. These are not particularly well attended.
