Godwebb

Godwebb is the cotton-light, white, fuzzy, plant substance that grows in fine particles over some of the grassy areas in The Firgenholt Wood. It is gently and sustainably harvested by The Firgenholt Woodsmen to be spun into basic but sacred clothing for the members of the tribe. The women are taught at a young age how to harvest, tuft, spin, sew, and weave garments out of it.

Properties

Material Characteristics

When raw, it resembles small feathers or dandelion seedlings. They are tiny, fuzzy particles with a translucent white color.   When tufted (collected and packed into large fuzzy masses), they are more wooly in texture and grayish-white in color.   When the tufts are spun into thread or yarn, the texture becomes smoother and the color becomes a silky, creamy off white.   When woven into clothing, the garments are soft and whire as pure cotton. The absorbent qualities of the fabric allow for easy dyeing and embroidery.

Origin & Source

Godwebb is primarily found in The Firgenholt Wood, due to its unusual required growing conditions. The environment must be damp, and the surrounding plants must give a sufficient amount of shade. It is also much more prone to accumulate and stick to the species of grass found in Firgenholt Wood.

Life & Expiration

If not in the proper environment, Godwebb, in its raw form, can dissolve into thin air; disintegrate. But, once collected, tufted, spun (either or all) it will keep its consistency.
