Faeward Faith

Brief Overview

A religion created by the fearful Fae people in order to appease their Faeward goddess, Oma. It's based on the worship of the goddess herself and the conjuration school of magic that not only helped create the Fae but is also harnessed by them.

General Overview

The Faeward Faith is best defined as highly contradictive. There are many odd aspects of the religion that make it difficult to understand what is breaking rules, and what is following them. This was done on purpose by their goddess in order to allow her to bend the rules as she pleased. This often left her followers afraid for their safety and in some cases, it even cost them their lives. The Fae were terrified of Oma, however, they were illusions and they were trapped in the Fayde. Unfortunately, they were left with no choice but to pledge their fealty, or fade away.
When Oma would get annoyed with someone in the Fayde she would simply wave her hand and they would slowly disappear as those they loved watched in horror. Many of the Fae who have lived long enough to remember their life in the Fayde speak of stories and songs they'd share to remind the young Faelings never to stray too far from reality, and never speak the name of the Faeward goddess.
Which way's forward, which way's back.
She'll spin you round the splitting path.
Over your shoulder, she will preach.
Whispered right in your ear, yet out of your reach.
She'll chip and chip until you break,
and what once was real then becomes fake.
Then all that is left will tremble and shake,
as your faded soul becomes hers to take.

Hers to Take. As sung by local Faelings
