Uplift

Generic term for a being or species created through the process of animal uplift. The ancestors of uplifts are/were non-sapient creatures, putting their descendants in the unique position of being sapients with no pre-existing culture. Most uplifted species adopt large swaths of their uplifters' culture, with changes appearing over time as they adapt it to their own psychology.
