Drive Tap

A system for extracting electrical power from a running torch drive aboard a ship. Most drive taps are simple heat engines connected between the torch's radiators and secondary, colder radiator. Since high-grade spacecraft engines regularly have power outputs in the gigawatts to terawatts, even a small drive tap can provide enough spare electricity to light up the entire crew cabin or fire a military-grade laser.
