American Refuge World
American Refuge Worlds were planets colonized by Ancient America to act as safe havens and civilizational backup sites to ensure its way of life would not perish no matter what catastrophe might befall old Terra (then known as Earth). They were often located on marginal or harsh planets where settlement would be much harder than usual, a deliberate choice to make discovery unlikely so long as their locations remained secret.
All known Refuge Worlds were recontacted in the Second Interstellar Period (and again after the Interstellar Dark Ages), with the sole exceptions of Eisenhower and Yellowstone. Eisenhower has remained isolated since the Age of Strife, not yet investigated by the Stellar Compact since its population is thought to be dead.

/*when, fearing a resurgence of the militarism which once devastated their homelands, artilects of the former Celestial Union (mortal enemy of the American Federation), managed to get an isolation policy against it until such time as it can be declared safe.*/
Yellowstone's location has never been found and many historians consider it a myth.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
