Breaking the third wall
Inspiration for this article started through the creation of the World-map in Wonderdraft. Dra Aamon's phenomena "
Aamon's Reach" is inspired by our world. i.e. reality (Earth).
In the United Kingdom, in a seaside town lies a unique natural geological effect. The sea has strong crosscurrents; through time, the currents deposits shingles (small stones) in a line. At low tide, the shingles are visible and can be walked on like a path; however, visitors and residents need to be cautious as the tide can change quickly, and as the shingles are at different heights, you can become cut off from land.
Below is an image carousel of this natural wonder.

Meaning of the name
The term 'Aamon' derives from the 'Milkomite' religion & biblical demonology within
christianity demonology.. I picked the name 'Dra Aamon' due to its connectivity with fantasy. Some of this connection comes from Dungeons & Dragons fifth edition (DnD5e).
The term 'Dra' meaning Drag in Swedish came about through random translation of words using Google Translate when formulating the backstory for 'Dra Aamon'.
According to fandom, 'Aamon', in Dungeons & Dragons fifth edition (DnD5e), was one of the only creatures of the 'Nine Hells' that could command 'Asmodai'/'asmodeus' (King of the demons). 'Asmodai' is considered one of the more powerful creatures of 'hell', therefore giving rise that 'Aamon' is greater. As Aamon is lesser-known, this furthers the envisioned fantasy with the view of Aamon being shrouded in shadow (a colloquial term for being behind the scenes).
Further, 'Aamon' was chosen because the theological history behind the name referenced a creature of hell linking the envisioned story, which is intended to be an earthly hell, i.e. hell-on-earth. Further to give flexibility for future scope storytelling g, 'Amon' from Egyptians theology was a supreme God giving additional story dimensions.
While exploring the world's initial vision of Grimdark with gritty reality, I had thoughts of luscious green fields, rolling hills filled with flowers bursting in colours such as; candyfloss pinks, oranges, sapphire yellows, amethyst purples and more. As the world is Grimdark, amongst the euphoric locations lies hellish realms filled with anguish, creating the opposite of luscious greens being dry, blistered, blackened and lifeless estates.
When considering a real-world opposite of luscious green fields realms teeming with life, thoughts wander towards deserts. Ammon is a demonic location, leading thoughts towards fire & brimstone - hell-on-earth, which thinks to the colour red. Further, red is the opposite of green and is considered a dangerous colour in nature, which links Ammon's conceptual idea of being demonic together.
Another factor is what "natural" feature or effect makes the location hostile as nature typically finds a way; this is where the demonic fantasy comes in. However, to make a story, there must be a reason or cause; this introduces the need for physical phenomena such as black bile, sulphur geysers, which are both deadly to humans. Therefore locations with bile, sulphur, and extreme temperatures like Aaamon on earth would likely be untraversable and inhospitable to human life, creating an opposite to euphoric locations.
In summary, these factors create several critical criteria - demonic red, dry, cracked land from the blistering heat blackened and salt-crusted lands for the geysers. Therefore, for inspiration to create a visualisation of Aamon, I took inspiration from the planet Mars and with some photoshop skills, Ammon's surface visualisation was born.
