On the scorched and blistered south-west shores of Dra Aamon with scorching heat and the smell of rotting flesh lies a periodic unusual (some say unique) phenomena called "Aamon's Reach". Aamon's Reach rises from the tar-black sea's depths throughout the year, extending the horrific blackened, salt-crusted, and bloodstained lands of Aamon across the ocean, east of the harbour towards the fertile lands of the Elven Realms.   Dra Aamon, thereby Aamon's Reach is a hostile, malignant, and untraversable land filled with numerous crag, where sulphur and black bile erupts across the surface, which craves to consume the living. The atmosphere has zero per cent humidity, and the environment over time drains the essence of all life from all who dare to attempt to learn its secrets.   The phenomena Aamon's Reach has been estimated to be four miles in length and one mile in width. Aamon has formed numerous myths and legends and has inspired nightmares and horror stories for millennia. Some say that the ocean's currents form the spit, through shingle deposits. Religious myths say the spit is caused by a battle between decay, destruction and nature, an eternal struggle for supremacy between two gods. Others say Aamon's Reach is a pathway to the underworld.   Many of the myths have a basis of truth, but none except the forsaken of Dra Aamon know the truth.   Aamon's Reach, like Aamon itself, is permeated with craters, sulphur & bile geysers and deadly flora, which make up the untraversable surface. One such typical flora is the; Rea Thorns, which name derives from the 'common language' term for 'rēpər', one of the mythical bringers of death. This is due to the inevitable and agonising death inflicted on victims from a single scratch. The toxin is so powerful that a scratch doesn't need to pierce the skin to inflict the inevitable magically uncurable agonising death.
