Chapter XI: More Questions Than Answers
General Summary
As Lunny stormed off back to the college, their path was soon interrupted by a magical stage appearing from thin air. Each of the teachers appears nearby in puffs of smoke.
A mystical whip made of enchanting energies conjures in your hands. A flick of the wrist sends the dagger-like razor-sharp tip through the abdomen of your teacher. His tiefling eyes stare at you with surprise and a glint of respect. He covers his wound with his hand as the other grasps hold of a potion. You stop him, however, your hand instinctively reaches forward and places a single finger on his crimson skin as his wound miraculously begins to vanish...
The teachers one by one introduce their respective students with each one of them displaying a spell to show their arcane prowess. After each of the students displayed their respective spells (aside from Lunny who opted out of participation), two mysterious strangers emerged from the crowd impaling Viska upon his rapier. A battle erupted and the two were swiftly dealt with.
Reforming inside of a tomb with more lucidity than before, Viska hears a faint crying noise down the end of the corridor. Following the noise, she finds herself viewing a ritual involving the sacrificing of a child, which is later revealed to be a birthright ritual. The two strangers once again appear from the shadows and reveal the truth of Viska's past and the circumstances of what she previously (and might still) saw as a curse.
Meanwhile, three days have passed and classes are out of session until the end of Discovery weekend. Xini was summoned to discuss her apparent divine abilities and the importance of its secrecy. As the robed Viska makes her way back into the college, the loud noises of the dinner bell ring throughout the halls.
