Moonpool

The moonpool houses two open basins that open directly out into The Abyss. These two basins allow submarines to enter directly from outside without any complex airlocks. The sub can simply enter the moonpool from below and the crew can exit into atmosphere inside the moonpool.
Generally, only one of the basins is usable, as the second houses a maintenance submarine, used by service engineers.
