Vaella Vartik

Vaella Vartik is the daughter of Tychio Vartik and Solasta Lysareon, the eldest of five children. Known for the composure of a gentle, humorous woman, there are those who can’t help but wonder what it would take to wash that mask off her face.
Appearance And Character
Vaella is almost always seen draped in silks and robes, varying from deep blues to purples, and silver finery to match the hue of her long hair, which she wears in braids, buns and loops. She is not too tall, but of a lithe build, almost too lean from the way her rib cage pops from her chest. She takes to worship of Elaehrys and often wears blue sapphires on her as a result, offering some of them to shrines. Despite Valyrian hair and countenance, the Rhoynish in her blood keeps arrogance at bay, as though she does not feel secure enough to declare herself pure.
History
Early Life
Vaella was born in 4820 AD as the firstborn of Tychio Vartik and Solasta Lysareon. She has three younger brothers and one younger sister, XY, Zane, Vaeseryn and Vaeseryna Vartik. In her childhood, those who would have seen her witnessed a child confused and angry, kicking her legs up in the air in indignation. But as time passed, and with a lot of expectation placed into the oldest, she was educated in commerce and the arts, and all manner of political intrigue. It would not be a surprise to have seen the girl as young as nine to be present for family dinners, or accompanying her father for a trade agreement. This became a more frequent appearance after the Sothoryos sea burned in 4832.
Youth
Vaella grew to play an amenable and warm person for the Vartiks to rely on. Good discipline became her with seniority, and with each meeting and social challenge, she learned to be a better and more gracious host. One could be forgiven for thinking her all into the luxuries that their wealth provided with how many parties she threw or guests she welcomed in her father’s occasional absence. Those closer found her to dabble in medicine, from how many scrolls she procured to study maladies. Particularly she enjoyed the drawings the most, often copying them into her own papers. Despite growing into a woman, she never married, or indulged in a paramour. If she did, she must have kept it so private not even her family knew. Sporadic visits to temples and shrines grew more frequent by each month, until she became a permanent fixture in its walls.
Middle Years
As the years passed, Vaella often went to the shrine of Elaehrys, to seek guidance and focus. There she became part of a community, and willingly gave to it in charity and support. Anyone seeking help from her found themselves owing for a future favor unspoken, and it was said most matters of importance were handled in between a prayer. She became more involved in the matters of the Vartik, particularly trade routes and rates.
Later Years
With a father dead and a mother returned, Vaella remains the same role she’s always played - but one can’t help but wonder what simmers beneath boisterous dinners and gatherings, and why the woman is now even more interested in meeting with old friends.
